The Question Time presenter's son was at Eton too.

Never let it be said that British politics is a haven of privileged white middle-aged men slapping each other's backs. For BBC's Question Time last night proved that sometimes they can undermine each other too. Especially regarding said privilege.

Here's Tory MP Jacob Rees-Mogg firing back at an embarrassed David Dimbleby when mocked by the presenter for being Eton-educated:

"This may not please everybody," Rees-Mogg began to tell the audience, discussing Heathrow expansion. "I used to live not a million miles from Slough with the aeroplanes going over, and I must confess they didn’t prove too bothersome then."

"Eton, was that?" Dimbleby quipped, to much laughter and applause from the audience.

"That’s absolutely right," Rees-Mogg replied calmly. "I was at school with your son."

Dimbleby laughed a little too loudly and looked down at his desk embarrassed, a slap-down only worsened by another panellist Piers Morgan's delight. "That is brilliant," cried the tabloid terror, pointing at Dimbleby with glee. "That’s the best thing I’ve seen him take in a long time."

"Let’s get back to the important subject of Heathrow," Rees-Mogg smiled. "Rather than my and Henry Dimbleby’s education."

Eton alive.
