It’s been a bit of a week for education on the Rock, with the new university having been inaugurated and opening its doors to students next week. The second part of the New Statesman’s interview with the education minister is here.
Meanwhile, internationally, things continue to be tough. Chief Minister Fabian Picardo is reported in the Olive Press as asking for guarantees of safety in British territorial waters, while in the Merco Press the British ambassador confirms how difficult ad hoc talks can become. For an article on the position on the waters near Gibraltar see the New Statesman’s Gibraltar hub this coming Tuesday.
There are, however, some positives to report. Gibraltar will be celebrating World Maritime Day, reports the Gibraltar Chronicle. We wish him well.
